Well previously...
Yes, the dog has been held captive. But at night he's been able to free himself from that cage. He could leave at anytime. But he's still here? Doesn't he want to leave? Be free? Find a family?
The dog decides he'll officially go when he's finished setting all the clocks in the facility an hr back. Today was the last clock in the building.
Before departing, the dog used his "common sense" and gained administrative access to the network and computers which he also set the time back on. The dog has even set up Skype, ran it on all of the computers, and routed Skype to his own computer because right now he is back home on his computer waiting to hear the faint reaction in the ambiance of the facility because the boss, is on her way in.
